8 hours

The Science of Metabolic Health

A systems-biology framework for understanding how diet drives metabolic disease at the cellular level. The Insulin/ROS Hypothesis provides a unified mechanistic explanation for the obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease epidemics that standard dietary guidelines cannot account for.

7 hours

Clinical Assessment and Predictive Diagnostics

Standard diagnostic criteria for metabolic disease, fasting glucose, HbA1c, BMI, identify disease only after significant cellular dysfunction has occurred. This module teaches a predictive diagnostic framework that identifies insulin resistance 10–15 years before standard criteria are met, enabling early intervention.

Disease-Specific Nutritional Protocols

Evidence-based dietary protocols for the reversal of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and metabolic syndrome. Includes medication management during dietary intervention and safe deprescription protocols.

The Art of Patient Counseling

Dietary behavior change is the most challenging clinical intervention a physician can attempt. This module applies the four principles of the Harvard Program on Negotiation to patient counseling, providing a rigorous, evidence-based framework for navigating resistance, building alliance, and achieving durable dietary change.

The History of Nutritional Science

A rigorous examination of how the low-fat dietary framework was established through flawed epidemiology, suppressed clinical trial data, and industry-funded research. Physicians cannot practice evidence-based nutritional medicine without understanding why the prevailing guidelines are not evidence-based.

Food Systems, Public Health, and Physician Advocacy

The metabolic disease epidemic is not primarily a failure of individual willpower, it is a failure of the food system. This module examines the upstream drivers of dietary disease, from soil microbiome depletion to agricultural subsidies, and equips physicians to advocate for systemic change as a clinical act.

Regulatory Alignment

This curriculum satisfies the 40-hour nutrition education requirement established by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under the MAHA Commission initiative. All 71 HHS medical nutrition competencies are addressed across the six modules.
